Several staff members from Sagamore Middle ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ ran the Tunnel to Towers 5K race in New York City on Sept. 24. The team was made up of Alison Sinacore, Angie Spencer, Anna Stalzer, April Ackerly-Dahn, Brooke Fallon, Dana Benic, Deborah Moore, Gillian Kolodny, JoAnn Spatola, Kelly Longhi, Lindsey Spatola, Lisa Abbondanza, Lori Pritchett, Meghan Rossi and team captain Vanessa Sullivan.
Through this event, they paid homage to those who lost their lives on Sept. 11, 2001 and symbolically traced firefighter Stephen Siller's final footsteps from the Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers. Team Sagamore raised more than $7,000 for the Tunnel to Towers Foundation which supports fallen and injured first responders, military heroes and their families.
